Double Extension Ladder for Fire and Rescue Services
Supply Plus designs and manufactures double extension ladders for the Fire and Rescue Services. Our DX ladders are built under two trusted British brands: +AS Fire & Safety and +Bayley.
Both ranges are made in the UK and certified to BS EN 1147:2010. They are trusted by fire, police and military users in over 60 countries.
The +AS DX Double Extension Ladder
The +AS DX ladder is designed to meet modern Fire and Rescue requirements. It offers outstanding stability while staying lightweight and rigid.
This ladder is in service with fire authorities around the world. It is certified for a 3-person rescue to BS EN 1147:2010.
Rivet and Truss Construction
The +AS DX is made from high tensile aluminium extrusions. A unique rivet and truss construction places material only where strength is required.
The result is an exceptionally strong, efficiently engineered ladder that remains manageable for operational crews.
Service Friendly Design
The +AS DX ladder is service friendly. Damaged components can be replaced, or the ladder can be repaired at our factory.
This helps fire services extend the operational life of their ladders, and a range of additional options is available to suit individual requirements.
The +Bayley DX Double Extension Ladder
The +Bayley DX ladder is available in lengths from 3.9m to 10.5m, in either a 2 or 3 section configuration.
Its swaged rung and box section construction is robust and durable. Like the +AS DX, it is certified for a 3-person rescue to EN1147.
Greater Grip
The +Bayley DX gives firefighters greater grip. It uses lighter box stile sections and a fully ribbed round surface.
Large diameter swaged rungs add to the secure footing. The ladder is made from high tensile aluminium custom extrusions.
Rungs That Stay in Place
Bayley ladders use star-shaped rungs that cannot rotate in the stiles. This proven design gives a firm, steady step every time.
Two Brands With a Long History
+Bayley has been making ladders since 1797. It began with wooden ladders and built the first wheeled escape ladders. Today, Bayley ladders are manufactured entirely in the UK.
+AS Fire & Safety has supported first responders since 1968. The business began in Southampton and joined Supply Plus in the early 2000s.
With over 50 years of experience, +AS ladders meet UK, ISO and international standards. The brand also offers training and localised support.
Ladder Training and Maintenance
We offer ladder maintenance and testing courses for fire service teams. A 3-day comprehensive course and a 2-day refresher course are available.
Training covers areas such as the rung change procedure, rivet and truss repair and the BS EN1147:2010 annual deflection test. We recommend a refresher every three years, with two to four attendees per refresher course.
Spare parts are also available, including the ASL DX Stile and Channel spares.
Carrying Your Ladders Safely
Double extension ladders are often carried on the roof of a fire appliance. Our +AS gantries are designed to carry ladders and are compatible with both +AS and +Bayley ladders.
This gives you a complete solution for ladder access, storage and deployment. Gantries improve operational efficiency, crew safety and manual handling. All deploy from the rear of the vehicle, which is safer for crews operating in tight streets.
